Set across approximately 12 acres in Lonavala, Shakuntal was conceived as an inward-looking wellness resort, creating a sense of privacy and stillness despite the active commercial surroundings.

Designed primarily for corporate clients from Pune and Mumbai, the resort brings together accommodation, wellness, recreation and spaces for business and social gatherings. The development includes rooms of different categories, a spa, clubhouse, indoor and outdoor activities, kitchens, administration and reception, along with a large open lawn for corporate events and celebrations.

At the heart of the concept is a change of pace. The planning is intended to move guests away from the intensity of everyday life into a more relaxed environment — offering opportunities to pause, rejuvenate, connect and engage through wellness activities, informal gatherings and team experiences.

The resort’s spaces are carefully organized to create this sense of retreat. Guest, staff and service areas have been clearly segregated, with their respective circulation planned to maintain privacy and operational efficiency.

A large open lawn provides a flexible setting for corporate events and weddings, while the multipurpose hall can adapt between conferences, meetings and other gatherings. The combination of indoor and outdoor activities, wellness spaces and shared facilities allows the resort to support both individual rejuvenation and collective experiences.

The design is ultimately about creating a place that feels removed from its surroundings — a slower, quieter environment where people can step away, reconnect and return refreshed.
