Set within the relatively remote landscape of Kallinayakanahalli near Bengaluru, this project was designed as a workplace for scientists working in research and crop development.
The remote setting brought logistical challenges, but also offered a distinctive opportunity — expansive views of the hills, rocky terrain and surrounding landscape became an integral part of the design response.
The interiors follow a light, minimal and relaxed language, allowing the landscape to remain a defining part of the experience. Natural light, open views and a restrained material palette create a calm, connected environment rather than a conventional office setting.
The design creates a range of spaces to support different ways of working — from silent pods and individual workspaces to group work areas, meeting rooms and informal discussion spaces. Workspaces are oriented towards the hills, while the central passage is transformed into an informal interaction zone, bringing people together under a natural skylight.
The multipurpose hall was reconfigured into smaller halls and an indoor play area, complemented by a gym and rest rooms for scientists. Together with conference rooms, cabins and flexible work areas, the planning allows spaces to adapt to different requirements through the day.
The result is a workplace that looks outward, works flexibly and responds to the unique setting of the site — creating an environment that supports focus, collaboration and well-being.
